Malasugi | Filipino Seafood
Brand identity | Web Design | Web Development
Malasugi is a seafood cafe inspired by my childhood memories of eating fish freshly caught & prepared by my uncles. Malasugi is a Cebuano word for swordfish, which also happens to be the key ingredient for my favorite Filipino dish: kinilaw.
Kinilaw is a raw seafood dish similar to ceviche, prepared with local ingredients such as calamansi citrus & coconut milk. It’s pretty damn delicious & I wish it were easier to find here in the US!
I drew inspiration from early 19th century Filipino architecture and traditional clothing design. I love the Filipino take on art deco / art nouveau styles & wanted to bring that aesthetic into a modern digital project.
